Writing Club

Pupils from all all year groups are welcomed to Writing Club each week. Here, we engage in a range of writing activities to inspire writing for pleasure. Pupils can select to use pens, pencils or a laptop to produce their writing and write for different audiences and purposes.

Each week, someone is selected to write an article for the school's newsletter and they are free to write about a topic of their choice. Others prefer to take part in local and national competitions with the goal of being published, such as: BBC 500 words competition; University of Liverpool's Building for the Future and a collaboration with Marvel's illustrator, Tim Quinn to produce a children's newspaper for the people of Merseyside. At the club, we have also had poems, stories, book reviews and biographies created!
