School Hot Dinners Menu

Toni, our chef, has extensive experience working in top hotels around Europe, and is highly skilled in catering for large numbers whilst delivering high quality dishes. Where possible dishes are made from scratch and we always look to use the best ingredients we can source.

Our new one-menu is designed carefully around what we know the children enjoy. We have regular 'specials' to try out new dishes to see if the children like them and add them to the menu if they do.

Each day there is:

A choice of main dish:

  • A meat and vegetarian hot dinner option and of course 'Fishy Friday' each week is always a favourite.
  • A pasta dish
  • A full jacket potato and filling of their choice -  baked beans, cheese, tuna mayo or any combination of these.

*All sauces for pasta and pizzas are made from scratch on the day and include blended vegetables such as peppers, onions, aubergines and carrots.

*No dishes are fried. Wedges and chips (when served) are cooked in the oven.

A selection of sides dishes to accompany their main:

  • A daily, extensive and unlimited salad bar - includes mixed salad, couscous, coleslaw, tuna mayo, cheese, raw vegetables
  • Vegetables - bolied or roasted

A dessert:

  • Yoghurt or Low sugar jelly
  • Unlimited fruit
  • Chefs special deserts on various days
  • Ice Cream on Fridays

Portions:

Y5 and 6 pupils have a slightly larger portion than Y3 and 4.

Cost:

Dinners cost £2 per day and must be paid for using the schools payment app - please speak to Mrs Pimblett at Reception if you need to register for this. Please do not pay by cash.

We're sure there is something here for everyone so why not give it a try!

What do our pupils think?

In a recent survey these were our pupls favourite meals. As a result we have adapted the school menu while retaining nutritional values.

Packed Lunches

We recommend the following for a packed lunch along the lines of a 'meal deal' from a supermarket:

A main: for example a sandwich or pasta dish

A snack or treat: for example a packet of crisps, chocolate  or biscuits (please see safe from nuts list below)

A drink: low sugar option where possible

Please do not include anything that contains nuts or traces of nuts. If we are in doubt we will ask children to keep it in their packed lunch bag for a treat after school.

We are populating a list of things that we know do not contain nuts or traces of nuts. Please refer to this list if you are in doubt. If there is something we can add to the list please let us know.

Nut Free Snacks, Crisps & Biscuits

The following items are known not to contain nuts and therefore safe to eat in school. We will send this out if it is updated.
