Uniform Policy for Pupils
Uniform Combinations
Pupils and parents can choose any combination from the three columns below:

Shoes – all year
School shoes must be worn at all times throughout the year, including the summer term for both boys and girls. These must be plain black shoes which can be polished and with no ‘bling’ or visible logos. We reserve the right make the final decision on whether footwear are shoes or otherwise.
Please note that leather pumps do not count as shoes and staff in shoe-shops do not decide what is or what is not acceptable. If you are unsure as to whether your choice meets the school's policy please check our guidance carefully. Anything that looks like pumps or trainers may not be permitted.
Trainers are only allowed for PE, playtimes and any sporting activities.
School Coats – all must wear these. No other coats are allowed.
These are available from Laser on County Rd. We may have limited stock of nearly new coats available. Please contract school directly if you would like to purchase one of these from us.
Other Expectations for Appearance
Children are expected to come to school in a clean, neat and tidy appearance. Shirts and blouses must be tucked in and top button fastened. As well as this, there are three other expectations on appearance:
- Plain silver of gold coloured studs are allowed, no other earrings are permitted. On stud in each earlobe: no other piercings are permitted.
- Make up is not permitted.
- Hair must be the natural colour, clean, neat and tidy. Long hair must be tied back (including boys’ hair). No oversize bows are permitted. Children should use small bows or bobbles in school colours.
- Patterns or zig zags are not permitted into shaven hair or eyebrows.
Any pupil who does not conform to these expectations in particular may receive a detention in the form of 'walkaround' on the yard with a member of staff at break and/or lunch. If there are exceptional circumstances please inform the class teacher. We reserve the right to decide on an individual basis what is or is not acceptable.
PE Kit for Boys and Girls
Children should come into school on their PE days in their PE kit. They can also wear it when they have sporting clubs after school.

PE kit is school uniform and only these shirts and tracksuits are to be worn. If correct PE uniform is not worn or brought in, children will still do PE but may also receive a detention depending upon circumstances.
Base layers/skins and leggings - these can be worn under PE Kit (shirts, shorts or tracksuits) but in place of shirts, shorts or tracksuits.
