The Iron Man

 

In English, we have been studying the novel 'The Iron Man' by Ted Hughes. As writers, we have taken on the persona of Hogarth and written eye witness accounts of the incredible events that he experienced. These included witnessing the Iron Man arriving at his very own local town and a battle between the Iron Man and the Space-bat-angel dragon (a terrifying beast who one night landed on the sandy beaches of Australia!). The children in Year 4 really worked hard to develop their use of expanded noun phrases and fronted adverbials throughout the topic. Watch out because the Iron Man may soon be coming to a town near you!
