Maths Escape Rooms
Exciting, challenging and at times frustrating - just a few words of many that Year 4 pupils have used to describe their time in the 'Maths Escape Room'!
Working in small teams, each group faced a safe covered in padlocks. Their challenge? To crack each code! This was not as easy as it may sound. In order to work out the combinations, the children had to solve a wide variety of problems that linked to: converting measures, money calculations, co-ordinates, factors, sequences, times tables and 4 operations knowledge. Not only that, but also there was a Morse code problem to solve too!
The children were most certainly up for the challenge! One of the morning groups (Isabelle E, Harley, Jessica A, Isabelle T, Harry W and Lily-Mae) managed to crack EVERY code with just 30 seconds to spare and then another group (Max, Taylor, Maisie, Daniel M, Daniel B and Katie) also cracked them all in the afternoon. WOW!
