Science: Life Cycles of Living Things

 

Following on from our 'Living Things' work on plants, it is time to investigate the life cycles of amphibians, insects and mammals. Using the facts provided in the links below, Year 5's tasks will include: drawing and annotating the life cycle of a frog, creating a step-by-step guide of a butterfly's metamorphosis and designing a fact file of the life cycle of a rabbit. 

 

Extra challenges include drawing and decorating a symmetrical butterfly and making links to our story session book ('Journey to the River Sea') to write a story about one butterfly's transformation and journey through the Amazon Rainforest! If you can research a particular species of butterfly, whose habitat is the rainforest, this would be fantastic!
