Democracy in Action!

As part of our British Values theme, our school have held Council elections. These are some of the candidates in Year 5 delivering their election speeches. Firstly, the children thought about their own Manifesto and then prepared their speeches. They canvassed their promises with posters and 'Listening Hubs' where children could speak to them, openly and honestly, about issues that are affecting them and their ideas for improving the school.

The process culminated in an election ballot taking place in the hall. The votes were counted and the successful candidates were delighted with the result. We are sure that these elected representatives will carry out their role with honesty, integrity and selfless commitment.
