Children where tasked with solving complex problems and procedures through sequencing and selection. To do this, children had to explore sequencing blocks and procedures in building their own lines of code. Children had to use their reasoning skills and explain to each other how and why they had used a certain line of code. This supported the children's understanding and helped them complete their work correctly and more concisely.
'I was a bit worried about explaining what code I had used, in case I had got it wrong but explaining the sequence to someone else actually helped me to realise that my coding sequence was correct. It really helped to improve my confidence! - George M
'Explaining a coding sequence to another person is a really good way of improving your understanding of sequencing because it makes to think about what code you have used and that the coding sequence makes sense!' - Maggie L
