Regular practise on the 'Duolingo' app helps us to embed the Spanish vocabulary we learn in our weekly lessons. The more accurate our answers, the quicker we progress through the various topics, such as phrases, family and travel. It is important that we revisit these topics regularly to secure our knowledge and earn enough coins to move on!
Independent Writing Assessment
To demonstrate their learning at the end of the Autumn half term, Year 6 pupils independently wrote a short paragraph to describe their daily routines. Some described our morning before arriving at school; whilst others described their morning as well as some of the lessons studied at school. The pupils used the time of the day and adverbials to order their events chronologically.
"Vivo con mi mamá, papá y hermana. Tengo un perro. Me gusta nadar y gimnasia." - Michael
Independent work is essential for embedding the knowledge that children acquire during Spanish lessons. Here's a dialogue that was created independently by Sophia and Michael:
S: ¡Hola! ¿Cuál es tu rutina matutina?
M: ¡Hola! Primero desayuno con mi madre.
S: ¿A qué hora te levantas?
M: Me levanto a las siete.
S: ¿A qué hora vas al colegio?
M: Voy a la escuela a las ocho y media.
