Using #SFDS_OracyFirst when we post oracy-related items on our Twitter page resulted in our school being discovered by academics from Oxford University. Not only was Dr. Arlene Holmes-Henderson impressed with our pupils' oracy skills, but also she reached out to us to join us via 'Zoom'. This link has led to some fantastic Oracy opportunities for our pupils over the past few years. In particular, Year 4 and Year 5 participate in yearly 'Classical Conversations' with Oxford University academics to enrich their History and English topics.
