Extra Provision for Talented Pupils
Writing for a Purpose
Children who are identified as talented writers are chosen to take part in small group workshops which focus on writing for a purpose and with a real life audience or reader in mind. Most recently, we have corresponded with Everton Football Club, Liverpool Football Club and Liverpool City Council. This small group focus allows these pupils to be challenged and extended, whilst benefitting from seeing their writing making a difference to themselves and others in the community.
Year 6 at Western Approaches
Talented writers from Year 6 visited the mesmerising Western Approaches to inspire their writing. At the site, these pupils used what they had learnt from interactive workshops to inspire a piece of persuasive writing; back at school, they used this wealth of information and facts to write an informative historical report about the site's significance for local, British and global history.
