Enriching Experiences

Spanish Meal

Our humble school dining hall became a vibrant Spanish restaurant, as we sampled some of the superb delicacies of Spain. We also enjoyed listening to some new styles of Spanish music as we dined.

'I really enjoyed trying something new and I will be more willing to try other Spanish foods in future!' - Harry

'Mi favorito era las albóndigas!' - Millie

'Me gustaron las papas fritas. Preferí las albóndigas!' - Callum

Using Spanish Outside the Classroom: Restaurant Visit

A visit to Las Iguanas enables children to use their Spanish oracy skills as they ordered food and communicated with the staff.

- 'I have never been to a restaurant before so I loved making my choices and speaking to the Spanish waitress!' - Sophie

- 'The food was delicious! I want to go back to Las Iguanas every week! Muy bien!'  Charlie

Barcelona

Every year, Year 6 pupils are given the fantastic opportunity to visit Barcelona. This allows them to practise the Spanish they have learned throughout their time at SFDS in a real-life context, as well as allowing them to deepen their understanding of Spanish culture. The residential takes place in June every year.
