Earth and Space

Look at the faces on these planets! The children in Year 5 have been learning about the wonders of earth and space. Here we are in the Yard learning about how the planets are situated in our Solar System, their order and how they orbit. The children asked intelligent questions such as:

"Do some planets revolve faster than others?"

Zack was able to answer by commenting that it depends upon the size of the planet.

The children have also been enthused by an actual Astronomer, who comes to visit us with his incredible Space Dome! The children entered with trepidation as they hoped they would not be sucked into a time vortex and taken to another universe! The children learned all about the constellations and particularly enjoyed the story of Cassiopea with the Kracken, Andromeda and Perseus.
