Year 6 Cartographers

Year 6 have kicked off their geography topic by demonstrating what they already know about world geography.  But, this came with a twist: not only did they have to name the continents and oceans - they had to draw them too to assess their locational understanding of the world's geography. Our pupils then labelled significant features such as: Equator, Tropics of Capricorn and Cancer; Prime Meridian; lines of longitude and lines of latitude.

After a baseline and establishing hotspots for ourselves, we then drew on these geographical features accurately, using an atlas for reference.
