St Francis Crash Out on Penalties

On Wednesday the Year 6 Football Team took part in their final tournament for the school at Liverpool FC Academy. As always each and every boy gave 100% for their school.

We started off well and went from strength to strength winning every game in the groups stage to finish 1^st in the group.

This set us up for a final against Northwood from Kirkby. I was a fantastic final with both keepers making excellent saves early on to keep their teams in the game. After that, we had a number of excellent chances only for them to go wide of the goal or the keeper to make the save. The final finished 0-0 and so it went to the dreaded penalties. Unfortunately, we missed two penalties and Northwood scored theirs.

Every boy who took part could hold their heads high as they gave absolutely everything they had in order to win!
