Marking the start of Lent

Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of Lent, a season of fasting, penance and prayer.

Lent is a significant season in the year for Christians – a time of solemnity and self-reflection where they confess their failings and resolve to live a more godly life based on the teachings of Jesus Christ. It lasts for just over six weeks leading up to Easter

Today, we received the ashes to seek forgiveness from God and begin our Lent journey. We even made a Lenten promise to show our understanding of the sacrifices Jesus made and the temptations he faced in the desert.
