For our science topic, Animals (including humans), children have been learning about the role of teeth in the human digestive system and why it is important to look after our teeth.

To investigate tooth decay and the affect different liquids have on our teeth, three hard boiled eggs were placed in three different liquids; water, cola and vinegar for several days.

Each day, the children checked to see the affect the three liquids had on the egg shells. They were amazed to see how quickly the egg placed in the acidic vinegar decayed and how the shell was almost completely dissolved.
