Facing the elements, Year 4 visited Crosby Beach to take a better look at ‘Another Place’ by Antony Gormley. It was a perfect way to begin our new topic and it gave the children the opportunity to see the magnificent sculptures up close. We gathered on the beach and discussed what the iron men might experience and feel. Standing still and staring silently out to sea, we imagined that we were one of the sculptures and shared what we could see and hear. We feel incredibly lucky to have such fantastic art work located so close to our school. It was a brilliant trip that will surely inspire our writing this week.
