15/02/2019 - Talent ID Trip to Broken Symmetries Exhibition

On 15th February, our talented scientists were lucky enough to visit the Broken Symmetries Exhibition at the FACT learning Centre in Liverpool.

We started the day off by exploring art work created to reflect different aspects of the Universe. For example, we saw work created by an artist to represent time and space. We also watched a video showing thousands of pieces of artwork reflecting how art has changed through the centuries.

After our first  exhibition, we were then given the chance visit the FactLab to become inventors and design our very own machines. We had some excellent ideas from the children including personality detectors, camouflage machines and much more!

After all of the exploring and creating, we finished the morning by visiting the main exhibition downstairs. This is where we were lucky enough to see the real life alien - well it wasn't green and slimy but it certainly was impressive! We were also given the opportunity to create a piece of writing about an alien visiting our school. Check these out below!

What a fantastic day we all had. A truly out of this world experience!

But don't take our word for it! Here's what our budding young scientists had to say about it.

Sean Bradley - Year 4

I enjoyed creating my own machine and presenting to the rest of the group!
