12/07/2017: City and Catholic Athletics
City and Catholic Athletics
This week was the annual Liverpool City and Liverpool Catholic Athletics Championships, held this year at Litherland Sports Park.
On Monday, we competed in the City competition in which we done extremely well coming 6th overall. The children competed in a number of events including long jump, an event in which Ben Worthington has really excelled lately, high jump, long distance and short distance events. Natalia Pietrasz from Year 5 was a stand out performer in the 75m coming 2nd in the Year 6 race, one to really watch in the future.
On Wednesday, we took part in the Catholic Athletics doing extremely well once again. Natalia once again excelled in every event that she took part in as did Joshua Miles and Dianna Emehelu all winning medals for 3rd and second place. Ben Worthington once again stepped up to do brilliantly in all events that he took part in. Every child who represented our school did so with pride and determination and as a result helped the team improve upon last year’s results.
All the children are now looking forward to the cross country season starting in September.
