Today, our pupil librarians visited our local library on County Road to present them with copies of our latest whole school 'We Are Writers' book. Every pupil in our school wrote their own 100 or 200 word story and these were all published in this book. Not only are our books available to read in the SFDS community due to each child receiving a copy, but now any member of the public can borrow a copy to read from Spellow Lane Library! 

During the visit, the librarians were shown how to catalogue a book onto the system and they got to help the Spellow Lane librarians catalogue the 'We Are Writers' books. Irene, who works for libraries across Liverpool, commented on how much she had enjoyed showing the children how a public library works. She didn't even have to ask the librarians twice about helping her to organise the children's section. 

Irene was so impressed to hear that our school writes their own books that she asked if we could display some samples of the stories on their walls. We now have our very own display up in the library, so please pop in and check it out!
