Pollination Presentations

After learning about the different parts of a plant, our children used their oracy skills to prepare and give presentations about the different stages of pollination. They children focused on using their scientific vocabulary, speaking in a clear tone and maintaining eye contact with their audience.

Functions of the skeleton

After working scientifically to sort the parts of the skeleton under the 3 headings; Support, Movement and Protection, the children (working in pairs) used their new knowledge and understanding to create a short presentation on the importance of the skeleton to the rest of the class. They focused on justifying their answers using evidence and speaking in a clear tone.

"The skeleton is extremely important, its main functions are to support us, protect our vital organs and help us move. Did you know the ribcage protects organs such as the heart and lungs?" Frankie, Class 2
