Acquisition of Knowledge and Skills

All pupils in Year 5 receive regular Music lessons in which they acquire knowledge and skills of both how to be a great musician using several different instruments and appreciation of a variety of different genres of music. Pupils also have the opportunity to further their knowledge and skills through extra peripatetic instrumental teaching.

"In Year 5, we get to learn about the music of The Beatles. I've really enjoyed this as The Beatles are so important to my home city. I'd heard of them before but didn't realise how revolutionary their music was. The main song we have learned about is 'Penny Lane'." - Dominic
