St. George's Day 2015

We celebrated St. George’s Day in our school this week. We learnt how St. George is the patron saint of England, that our flag is called St. George’s Cross and that our national flower is a red rose. We also learnt about the mythical story of St. George defeating the dragon.

We made swords, shields, flags and crowns in the red and white style of St. George’s Cross. Then we went onto the yard and acted out a battle where we fought and Mrs. Carson pretended to be a dragon!

After the battle we came back inside to have a party. There was lots and lots of food and some more St. George’s Day activities. It was a really fun day!
