BARCELONA - June 2014
Thursday - all day at a funfair. What could be better? Port Aventura was full of thrills and spills. Who dared to ride the mighty Dragon Khan? Who was soaked to the skin in a pirate watergun shoot-out? You'll have to wait until we all get home tomorrow to find out...
Wednesday. A morning by the pool with some aqua aerobics before heading to the local promenade for lunch. Yum! Then to Port Olimpic, Las Ramblas and finally La Sagrada Familia! Our visit to this unique and beautiful cathedral was the highlight of our visit to the city of Barcelona. The sense of awe and wonder felt by the children and teachers as they walked around Gaudi's masterpiece was unforgettable.
A superb day before Barca's Got Talent, where everyone was able to share whatever talents they had. Who knew we had so many different skills!
Tuesday. Hola all! We're at the Science Museum this morning, checking out the indoor rainforest and other amazing exhibits.
Monday Hola everyone - here we are in sunny Barcelona. Had a brilliant first day - started with a fantastic Spanish breakfast, then a quick coach trip to Camp Nou (home of the brilliant Barcelona FC) where we had a photo opportunity with the Champions League Trophy, stood pitch side in the glorious Catalunya sunshine and visited the press box which witnessed Liverpool's 2-1 victory over this historic Catalan club. Then onwards to Montjuic for lunch and beautiful views over the city which wowed every member of our group. As a surprise, Henk - our friendly and knowledgeable guide, organised a visit to the Olimpic Stadium and then a guided coach tour around some of the highlights of this amazing city. A swim before tea ended this busy day. Then off to bed with full tummies and lots of happy memories. Visit the blog again tomorrow for another update and hopefully some photos!
