Memory Cushions

As part of our design and technology topic, Year 6 will be designing and making a cushion based on their memories of our school. Today, after designing the covers, it was time to test our sewing skills. Using a patch of fabric, we each created a prototype by practising different types of stitching that we could use in our final design. Whilst some of us initially struggled to thread the needle, towards the end of the lesson it was great to see the ‘sewing bees’ amongst us darning away with running stitches and blanket stitches to name but a few.
