24/03/17: Red Nose Day!
Red Nose Day 2017:
By now, it'a British Institution, and as usual, our school took full part! Every two years, people across the land get together and do something funny for money - whether that is at home or at school! Our children gave so generously to Comic Relief (a charity which helps people living tough lives across the UK and Africa) and were allowed to wear a red t-shirt or a red accessory.
In addition to this, each child was given a 'Red Nose', which featured the hunt for the legendary rare nose! On a more serious note, we discussed the story of Hassan - a young boy from Sierra Leone whose life has been severely hampered due to Ebola. We discussed the impact that Comic Relief has upon improving his life and putting a smile back on his face. We then created a few acrostic poems to help celebrate what Red Nose Day encapsulates - and some of us even wrote a letter to Hassan, explaining how he inspires us with his bravery!
