Father Ged's Induction

On Tuesday 21st February Archbishop McMahon celebrated the mass of induction at St. Francis de Sales, for Fr. Gerard Callacher as its new Parish Priest. Fr. Callacher replaces Fr. John Thompson who sadly died last October after 30+ years as Parish Priest. Also at this mass the archbishop presented the Cross Pro Ecclesia et Pontifice to Mrs Roberta (Bobby) Green for her work as parish secretary to both St. Francis de sales and St Monica's for over 35 years as well as her work as auditor for the metropolitan tribunal. The cross Pro Ecclesia et Pontifice is the highest papal award a lay person can receive. Fr. Callacher said he was very pleased to share the occasion with Bobby who has been an invaluable help to him since taking over from a much-loved Parish Priest like Fr. John.
