19/06/17: Mountain Biking at Delamere Forest
Earlier this week, a group of fearless Year 5 pupils set off looking for adventure. We found ourselves in the breathtaking Delamere Forest. It might have been the hottest day of the year so far, but that didn't deter our intrepid explorers. After getting fitted for our mountain bikes and helmets, we were raring to go. Cycling along the pathways, the forest provided a welcoming shady oasis in the blistering heat. The scenery was stunning, we even bumped into a familiar character on the way! (See photographs.) Our instructor was so impressed with our cycling ability, that he showed us a secret beauty spot nestled deep inside the forest. We had to go off the beaten track, but it was well worth it!
Finally, covered with a splattering of bugs and a layer of sun cream, we cooled off with a lolly - ice, lovely. Exhausted and aching, yet proud and brimming with a sense of accomplishment, we headed back to school. This trip was definitely one of the highlights of Year 5.
