Barlows Primary Vs St Francis de Sales

 

Yesterday, St Francis de Sales Year 6 team took on Barlows Primary in the Liverpool League. It was a hard fought game from the start on a very tight pitch. Both teams started well creating a number of chances. Firstly, their keeper saved well on two occasions after shots from Alfie Richardson and Joshua Miles. Secondly, Jack Glover got down well to stop two shots from their striker.

 

Barlows took the lead around 10 minutes in to the game after a long ball from their keeper got through our defence. However, this did not deter our boys as the rallied together to get back into the game. Josh Miles scored the first goal from the penalty sport after George Carden was brought down in the box and the second also came from Josh Miles’s cross into the box which their defender put into their own goal.

 

In the second half Barlows tested our defence on a number of occasions but we held firm and in the dying seconds broke after an interception from James Glendenning put Sonny Forward in who coolly finished it to make the final score 3-1 to St Francis de Sales.
