11/04/2018 Science - Dissecting Flowers
Reproduction of Plants!
As part of our new science topic on living things, we learnt about how flowers reproduce. We dissected a range of different flowers to identify the key features of their reproductive systems such as: the stigma, the anthem, the filament, the ovary, the stamen, the petals, the stigmas and the nectarines. We looked in detail about the vital role of each part in the reproductive cycle. Did you know there are two ways plants are pollinated – by insects and by the wind? Ask any of our children to explain how each of them works!
