Year 5 - World Cup Day
On Tuesday 3rd July, year 5 held their World Cup Day. The children were split into their four house teams, Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. Next, they were split further to represent different 5 a side world cup teams. After that, these teams had to compete in a football tournament. Each team played a total of 3 games where they showed off their amazing teamwork and football talents!
The children really enjoyed their day competing but also enjoyed cheering on their classmates in other teams. They worked so hard and with determination, teamwork and skill; the four teams to make it into the quarter-finals were Mexico, Korea, Egypt and Nigeria.
We then held the quarter finals. Mexico V Korea and Egypt V Nigeria. These four teams gave their everything but unfortunately only two teams could make it through to the final. Those teams were…Mexico and Nigeria.
The final will be held alongside the finals from years 3, 4 and 6 next week so keep an eye out for our winners!
