01/03/2018 - World Book Day in Year 4!

World Book Day

Words in books were banned this year! Year 4's challenge was to see if it is possible to read a completely wordless book for meaning. They succeeded!

We spent the day exploring the fantastic picture booked called 'Journey' by Aaron Becker. It starts off by showing a little girl who seems lonely. The children wowed us during discussions about what types of things might have caused her to feel this way.

Throughout the day, the children acted out their own interpretations of the book using role-play and 'conscience alley'. Fantastic inferences were made by the children and this helped them to complete some brilliant plot summaries.
