Peace Proms 2019

Liverpool Peace Proms 2019

On Saturday 26th January, 2019, our famous choir descended upon the M&S Bank Arena to perform in front of a packed-out crowd. They were proudly representing our school as part of the Liverpool Children's Peace Choir and, of course, they put on a show for the ages!

Needless to say, the critically acclaimed 'Cross Border Orchestra of Ireland' were blown away by the performance of the SFDS choir. The choir entertained the audience with performances with many family favourites, including a Pop Medley, Greatest Showman Medley and (to the joy of the parents in the arena) the Boogie Medley: there really was something for everyone!

We are so proud of the performance that our choir put in and are looking forward to taking part again next year! A huge well done to all the children for their enthusiasm and professionalism, both on stage and during the numerous rehearsals with Miss Bird and Mr Townley.

The goal of the Peace Proms was to bring a shared love for music and passion for peace to large numbers of children, schools, communities and live audiences. The CBOID (Ireland's award-winning youth orchestra) have done this across the world in Carnegie Hall, the Royal Albert Hall and the Oriental Arts Centre. The performance was conducted by Greg Beardsell, who was exhilarating throughout.
