We are an Inclusion Quality Mark Centre of Excellence

We are incredibly proud to announce that St Francis de Sales Catholic Junior School has been recognised as a Centre of Excellence for Inclusion by the Inclusion Quality Mark (IQM) — an internationally respected organisation that celebrates best practice in inclusive education.

This prestigious status, awarded following a rigorous two-day inspection in 2024, involved staff, children, parents, and governors, and reflects the exceptionally high standards we set for inclusion across all aspects of school life.

The IQM assessor described our school as “an outstanding school… with inclusive practice and values at its very core.” Children are “at the heart of everything at Francis De Sales,” and “every child is given the same opportunity to do their best and fulfil their potential.”

Our commitment to inclusion is seen daily through our ethos that “everybody has the opportunity to succeed and feel part of the school family.” The report praised our culture as “not just a good one — it’s an excellent one,” driven by our values of service, faithfulness, integrity, and compassion.

At St Francis de Sales, “we see beyond the barriers.” Whether through nurturing relationships, innovative teaching, or exceptional pastoral care, we ensure every child is valued, supported, and challenged to thrive.
