Charity
Charitable Work
At St Francis de Sales we understand the importance of helping others. Being charitable, spreading kindness and joy underpin the Gospel values which we continuously aim live out at our school. Throughout our school year, we are regularly involved with various organisations that allow us the opportunity to demonstrate how we can live in God’s light by supporting those in need in our local community and the wider world.
Take a look at the various organisations we are actively involved in throughout the year.
The Whitechapel Centre
To celebrate our Feast Day, we supported the Whitechapel Centre. This wonderful organisation supports the homeless in our city. Each class collected various products for the charity to distribute out to Liverpool's homeless. Alongside this, we send a prayer to acknowledge their struggle and that they are always in our thoughts.
Liverpool City Mission
To celebrate our Feast Day, we support a Liverpool City Mission. This wonderful organisation supports the homeless in our city. Leading up to our Feast Day, we collect various products for the charity to distribute out to Liverpool's homeless. This includes hygiene products and essentials to get through the winter such as socks and gloves. Alongside this, we send a prayer to acknowledge their struggle and that they are always in our thoughts.
Operation Christmas Child
We look forward to supporting Samaritan's Purse every year during the season of Advent. Operation Christmas Child has delivered millions of gift-filled shoe boxes to needy children over the years and St Francis de Sales are proud to have contributed to this. Each year, our community's generosity surpasses itself as our parents and pupils kindly provide a gift that helps children across the world to have a memorable Christmas.
The North Liverpool Foodbank
Around Harvest time, we support St Andrew's Church by providing donations for the North Liverpool Foodbank. This wonderful organisation aims to provide three days worth of food for families who are struggling to feed themselves. Our parents and pupils always come together to help this vital cause.
Alongside this, we regularly support the following organisations:
- Nugent Care
- Red Nose Day
- Macmillan Cancer Support (Staff coffee morning)
- Alder Hey Children's Hospital
- NSPCC
- Blind Dogs
