Today we were visited by children and staff from the Manchester Muslim Preparatory School. All the children had a great time working together on art and Maths problem solving activities as well as sitting together for lunch and getting to know each other better.
After some initial 'ice breaker' activities the pupils created cards which celebrate the similarities and joint values and customs of our faiths. This was led by our resident artist Becky. In the afternoon the pupils were put in mixed teams to solve Maths problems in an 'Escape Box' session. This was extremely competitive; one team the clear winners solving eight of the tricky tasks.
This is the start of a partnership with MMP which both schools believe will foster closer relations and develop friendship and understanding. We are looking forward to many more joint projects and activity days as part of this groundbreaking initiative.
