06/06/2018: Sports Day

Sports Day 2018

This week, Year 3 enjoyed their annual Sports Day event held at John Moore’s IM Marsh campus. The children were teamed up in their house teams (John, Luke, Matthew and Mark) throughout the day and took part in numerous sporting activities including: kinball, hockey, relay races, egg and spoon race and hurdles.

The children really enjoyed the opportunity to not only show off their sporting skills, but also work as a team and support their friends with lots of enthusiasm.

Well done to all children, you were brilliant!

“My favourite part of Sports Day was hockey because I had to work extremely hard and learn how to play the game. Previously, I had never played hockey so it was a new sport for me to learn. My friends and teammates really helped me which meant I was able to improve.”

Dominic C, Class 1

“Playing hockey was my favourite part of the day because I had never played the game before and had always wanted to learn about it. I also enjoyed racing against my classmates and working as part of a team. My favourite race was the egg and spoon race.”

Daria S, Class 2

“I really enjoyed the opportunity to learn about different sports as well as cheering on my teammates so we could win the most points. Also, I liked playing hockey because it was a great chance to play a sport which I watch on television. It was a fantastic experience and an amazing day!”

Sophia E, Class 3

“My favourite part of Sports Day was participating in the egg and spoon race. I was confident during the race and felt that I could keep the egg on the spoon throughout. Sports Day was so much fun!”

Ruby G, Class 4
