A Day in the Life of St Francis de Sales

Introducing St. Francis de Sales Catholic Junior school to our international link schools

This video represents a day in the life of a pupil at St. Francis de Sales. We have proudly sent this video to our international link schools to show them what a day in the life entails for a pupil in our school. We are currently awaiting their own versions. We look forward to comparing and contrasting our pupils' similarities and differences!



The vision of our school partnerships is to offer children the opportunity to delve into the culture, world and experience of others. As the children explore different school partnerships, they will develop a culture awareness and understanding. Children will develop their knowledge in significant areas; traditions, cultures, strengths and diversity. The children will see the diversity of the world around them and come to understand more about society as we strive toward creating global citizens.


The school partnership area of the curriculum has been designed by the International co-ordinator in relation to the geography curriculum. For example, the children in Year 3 are working with a school partnership in Manchester (The Manchester Muslim Prep School) as their geography focus is the UK. Whereas the children in year 4 are working with our partner school in Barcelona (Salesians Ripoll) as their geography focus is Barcelona. This enables children to develop their understanding and have a ‘real’ insight into the places they study. Children are then equipped with the skills to draw real life comparisons and develop a true cultural awareness.


By Year 6, children will have strong citizenship attitudes and attributes and an appreciation of cultural diversity. They will be motivated to continue to learn foreign languages and have a curiosity to learn about the wider world and their place in it, as well as dedication to developing important life skills and cultural awareness.
