Día Dos: The Camp Nou

Dia Dos: A Fantastic Day at the Nou Camp

Today, we woke up to a massive surprise as we got to visit the world’s best football stadium – the Nou Camp! All of our jaws dropped as we gazed upon the gigantic outline of the 99,000 seater stadium. We could see it from our vantage point, standing out in the distance like a great bowl. It made me think of all the memorable nights that had occurred in that famous, old stadium and of all the legendary footballers who have graced the pitch with their talents.

The thrill, wonder and excitement rushed into us, as we saw the comfortable dugouts, the expensive and luxurious boxes and the surprisingly leisurely away dressing room! After having a superb and exciting tour of the club’s museum (where we found the football boots of the mythical Johan Cruyff and the shirt of the original Ronaldo), we ventured out into the actual stadium! We went high up into the stands and the pitch seemed to be miles away, the people on the pitch were as small as ants! Our minds were blown by some of trophies that we could see on display. Despite all of this awe and wonder, the favourite part for many of us was the visit to the club shop, which was like a superstore – it was multi-storied and we could have been entertained for hours in there… if the teachers would have allowed us!

Finally, after one of my favourite days of all time, we headed home to our chalets; all of us could not stop talking about our tour of the stadium, though. Our excitement even made us forget about the impending trip to Port Aventura the next day…although not for too long. I fell asleep quite quickly that night, with visions of Messi, Neymar and Suarez whizzing through my mind!
