Ruby - As part of our Earth & Space topic, the space dome was brought into school for us to learn all about space and our galaxy. It was really interesting because we learnt about different stars and satellites in our universe. I really enjoyed the experience of being inside the space dome and I would love to experience this again. It really brought science to life.
Christopher - This term, we visited the Museum of Science and Industry in Manchester. It was an amazing experience and we were able to attend an explosions workshop where the scientists used a range of chemicals to create different explosions. Also, we had the opportunity to explore the museum and learn about recycling, levers, gears and pulleys and we even visited an Old Mill area, which was an interesting experience. It was a great day out!
Isabelle - I really enjoyed the science forces workshop with Mr B when we created rockets to launch into the air. We worked as a team to plan out our design, taking into account the materials, shape and the effects of air resistance. We were aware that smaller fins on the bottom part of the rocket would result in the rocket staying in the air for longer so we designed our rocket with this in mind. The experience was really fun and taught us a lot about forces.
Harry - I have thoroughly enjoyed the materials topic this term in science. During this topic, we have been able to carry out lots of investigations looking at properties of materials and how they react in different ways. I enjoyed the irreversible changes experiment we did when we mixed milk and vinegar and bicarbonate of soda with vinegar. It was a fun lesson!
